Dukhtaran- e- Millat (DeM)  chief Aasiya Andrabi today strongly condemned the burning of a flag bearing Quranic scriptures in Rajouri, appealing people across Kashmir to stage protests on July 24, after Friday prayers.

"The communal forces like VHP and RSS have got a free hand to provoke Muslims by playing with their sentiments. The already expressed apprehension is becoming clear that Muslims in Jammu division are being provoked with the ill intention of repeating the past and massacring them. However, Muslims of Jammu are not alone but the Muslims of the valley are on their back and will not be the silent spectators to Jammu Muslims' harassment at the hands of fanatics," Aasiya said in a statement.

She congratulated Rajouri Muslims for strongly protesting against the condemnable act of communal forces.

Rejecting the week and untenable argument that those who burnt the flag didn't know what was written on the flag, Aasiya said, "The world is not that naïve to believe these illogical stories."

"The PDP government in the state has given a free hand to the communal forces in Jammu to harass the Muslims and the situation in the area is such that the Muslims are pushed to the wall," Aasiya said

Assuring Jammu Muslims of all the support, Aasiya said, "We assure Jammu Muslims to be with them always but they too need to show some bravery and stand against the atrocities they are facing. They need to show a tough resistance while protecting their religious identity, political and social interests."
