A top army commander in Jammu and Kashmir today expressed concern over reports that several Kashmiri youths were joining militancy.
He said it was the collective responsibility of all the agencies to stop the trend and engage the youngsters in constructive activities.
"See, to my mind, more important than the number is that any youth joining the militancy (in Kashmir) is a cause of concern. It is a collective responsibility of all the agencies to make sure that the youth is effectively engaged (so they don't end up taking guns)," General officer in Command of the Srinagar-based 15 corps of the Army Lt Gen Subrata Saha told reporters after a function here today.
He said that the youth in Kashmir must be given an opportunity to pursue their future and must be given the right platform to grow.
