J&K High Court Bar Association (HCBA) today strongly condemned the burning of flag bearing Quranic verses in Rajouri. "Bar feels that burning of such a flag is not a mere coincidence but a well-planned conspiracy of communalists to browbeat the Muslims of Pir Panchal and Chenab valley and make their life uncomfortable and miserable," a HCBA spokesman said in a statement today.
"Bar wants to make it clear to BJP-RSS cadres that by burning flags bearing Quranic verses, they are going to break India and force the people to ask for another partition. They should know that there are more than 20 crores of Muslims living in India and they are hurting their religious sentiments and feelings. Such anti Muslim acts are bound to create a wedge between the two communities." Meanwhile, Bar has asked the forces and New Delhi to shun the idea of settling retired or serving armed personnel, who are not permanent residents of J&K State in colonies to be built for them in Kashmir province at Anantnag and Kupwara.
