The Anantnag Bar Association on Friday went for an indefinite strike against alleged misbehavior of a police officer with Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Anantnag.

The Bar Association had on Friday accussed the Sub-Inspector (SI) of JK Police of halting the vehicle of CJM Thursday night and harassing him and his family.

The Association had condemned the act, terming it as 'police highhandedness.'

The Judicial employees of District Court Anantnag and subordinate courts today supported the strike call of the lawyers and suspended their work too. The judicial employees along with the lawyers later protested the police high handedness in district court complex.

" We second the demand of lawyers of lodging FIR against the erring police official and his immediate suspension from services till the probe is completed into the incident," said the protesting judicial employees.
