The Muslim League Jammu Kashmir has flayed the police for not producing its incarcerated chairman Masarat Alam before a court here on July 24.
"Masrat Alam was to be produced before a Srinagar court on July 24.
However, he was not brought here from Kot Balwal Jail where he is serving detention under Public safety Act (PSA) since February this year," the ML spokesman Muhammad Rafiq Ganai said in a statement today, said, adding that "Masarat Alam is a victim of political revenge and police as well as civil administration is trying to break his will."
"Masarat Alam is the second name of steadfastness and dedication, who very sincerely professes and propagates his political faith by political means only," the spokesman said, adding that "Police are running away from facing Masrat Alam in courts and that is why he is not being produced in courts. He has been behind bars on fabricated cases for the last seven years except for 40 days which he spent at his home earlier this year."
