Two Jammu and Kashmir policemen who decamped with rifles and ammunition in Doda district have joined militant outfit Hizbul Mujhadeen, claimed Hizb Chief, Syed Salahuddin in a statement.

Hizb spokesperson Salim Hashmi, quoting Syed Salahuddin, said that "even Special Operation Group personnel have started understanding the relevance and importance of Kashmir movement."

"The policemen from Doda district, Bashir Ahmed and Muhammad Reyaz have joined Hizb along with two AK-47, one Insas rifles. They are the inspiration for those working for Jammu and Kashmir Police. More cops in a bid to shatter the haughtiness of pro-Indian actors will join militant ranks in future," he said.

Meanwhile, Hizb today claimed that its Border Squad killed two Indian military personnel and decamped with their sophisticated rifles in Nowgam Sector of North Kashmir's Kupwara district.

A caller, Burhanuddin, who identified himself as the Operational Spokesperson of Hizbul Mujhadeen told CNS that Hizb Border Squad launched an attack on an Indian post near Kanyapul Ghodatop in Nowgam Sector in which two Border Security Forces personnel were killed. "Mujahdeen managed to snatch their service rifles and fled from the scene," he said.
