He said that with the changing strategy of criminals, the force has to adopt new methods of policing to tackle the hostile situations.

Director General of Police (DGP) K. Rajendra Kumar has said that JKP has to bring innovative changes in its working to counter latest challenges of cyber crime and terrorism. He said that with the changing strategy of criminals, the force has to adopt new methods of policing to tackle the hostile situations.

Rajendra was addressing maiden police darbar at District Police Lines here today, which was attended by jawans and officers of districts of Srinagar and Budgam. He said that JKP, after tackling militancy has emerged as one of the best forces and its sacrifices for the security of the people have been recognised at national and international forums. "The force faced high intensity of terrorism and with the cooperation of people we have succeeded to bring the menace to its lowest ebb."

Rajendra stressed the cops to remain vigilant in future to thwart the designs of subversive elements as they would attempt to revitalise the dormant cells and create unrest in the State.

"We have to remain abreast with the changing scenario and adopt new methods of policing to counter the challenges of cyber crimes."

The DGP appreciated the jawans and officers for their dedicated efforts, ensuring maintenance of law & order and smooth conduct of Amar Nath Yatra. He said that the force, besides its professional duties has remained on forefront to provide assistance to the people, when the need arose. Stressing for enhanced community policing and people friendly activities, the DGP said that the force has to imbibe spirit of public service and strengthen public coordination. He said that aggressive attitude of men in uniform creates gap in the relations which should be discouraged. Use of minimum force while dealing hostile situations should be our priority, said the DGP.

The DGP said that people's cooperation is of paramount importance for JKP and we have to inculcate public service and better deliverance at all levels. He said that we have energetic and qualified man power deployed at every nook and corner including Thanas and have to prove with our people friendly attitude, providing professional policing, as the people approach the police with the hope to get remedy of their problems.
