Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani has announced to hold a condolence meeting in the memory of Gowhar Nazir Dar at Zainakote here on November 11, Wednesday. He has appealed people to participate in the event to pay tributes to the deceased youth.

"This condolence meeting will be a tribute to the young martyr of our nation and we will reaffirm our resolve that we will continue our struggle till the mission of martyrs is taken to its logical end," Geelani, , said in a statement.

"I  appeal people to participate in the meeting in large numbers," he added.

Condemning, what he said, the use of excessive force by Police and  paramilitary  CRPF personnel against the people who were protesting against the murder of innocent student Gowhar Nazir at Nowhatta and Zainakote here, Geelani said, "The forces in Jammu & Kashmir only know the language of force, atrocity and cruelty and they want to solve every issue through the military power."

"The people in Zainakote area are protesting against the killing of the innocent student and they are demanding the removal of the CRPF and RR camps present in the locality. The government forces also went on rampage in the downtown area of the Nowhatta and broke windows of dozens of residential houses and the Masjids. The police and the CRPF personnel damaged dozens of vehicles parked on the roads which is sheer hooliganism on the part of the forces," Geelani said, adding that "The PDP led government in Jammu & Kashmir is on the killing spree in the Kashmir and they are doing all this to appease their masters in New Delhi."

"The government has turned the state into a battle ground where forces are using excessive all the methods against the common public who are peacefully protesting for their just demands," Geelani said.

Meanwhile, Geelani has strongly condemned the continuous detention of the dozens of separatist leaders and hundreds of youths. Geelani also expressed his deep outrage over the arrest of 21 women members of the Dukhtaran-e-Millat by the police and registration of FIR against them.
