Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Vice-chairman Bashir Ahmed Bhat and senior Hurriyat (M) leader Javed Ahmed Mir have paid rich tributes to Sharik Bakhshi on his death anniversary.
In a statement here a JKLF spokesman said JKLF leaders, including advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt Er Ghulam Rasool Dar Eidi, Javed Ahmad Zargar and Ashraf bin Salam and others participated in a condolence meeting at Barzulla martyrs graveyard held to pay tributes to Shaheed Shariq Ahmad Bakhshi .
Senior separatist leader and brother of Shariq, ISL chief Shakil Ahmad Bakshi was also present on the occasion. On the occasion while paying rich tributes to martyr Shariq Ahmad Bakshi, Butt said that Shariq was one of the brave sons of this soil who embraced martyrdom at a tender age for the freedom of Jammu Kashmir.
Meanwhile, incarcerated Javaid Ahmad Mir said Sharik laid his life for a great cause who taught the lessons of resistance to awaken the Kashmiris. He added that the martyrs were the torch bearers of the ongoing resistance movement.
Javaid Mir condemned police highhandedness and said that police in downtown area was resorting to inhuman tactics and criticized the puppet administration for its brutal and callous approach against youth and teenagers.
Javaid Ahmad Mir also expressed his solidarity and sympathy with the bereaved family of Gowhar Nazir.
