Scores of vehicles were stranded on Srinagar-Leh highway on Monday due to slippery conditions at Zojila Pass.
More than 800 vehicles left for Srinagar from Drass after road was reopened for traffic on Sunday and most of them crossed Sonamarg today, said an official.
According to a traffic official, the main priority today was to allow stranded vehicles to cross Sonamarg.
"No vehicle from either side of the Zojila will be allowed to move until stranded vehicles don't cross the pass," he said.
"If weather and road conditions permit, the Kargil-bound vehicles stranded at Sonamarg will be allowed to move ahead," he added.
The highway was thrown open for traffic five days after snowfall forced its closure four days ago.
