MLA Langate and Awami Itihaad Party president, Sheikh Abdul Rashid lambasted the statement of Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed in which he had termed 1975 Accord as historic, terming it an act aimed at pleasing people in New Delhi.

Addressing a public gathering at Seer Hamdan in Anantnag district, Rashid stated, "While as Mufti Sayeed by such statement wants to please people holding throne in New Delhi. In reality, 1975 Accord diverted the resistance movement of Kashmir and Sheikh Abdullah through it vandalized the Plebiscite Front and right to self determination movement."

"The million dollar question is that people also need to introspect as just after one year of 1975 Accord, people gifted 58 seats to Sheikh Abdullah and have been repeating the mistakes of same parlances very often," he added.

Rashid said if masses really meant business, "they will find answers of several questions haunting them since 1947 as they have unfortunately supported those who have betrayed them."
