As the date of examination for various posts being conducted by J&K Services Selection Board (SSB) is nearing fast, the job aspirants have accused the Board authorities of allotting them 'inconvenient' centres in Kashmir valley.
They alleged that SSB authorities have fixed exam centres for them in districts other than their own which is causing them mental torture.
"Candidates from south Kashmir have their exam venues in central Kashmir and vice versa. Same is the case with numerous others," a group of aggrieved candidates to Greater Kashmir.
"This is height of non-seriousness on part of the authorities. Centres should have been allotted to the candidates in their home districts," they blurted.
Not only this, but several candidates also alleged that SSB has changed exam venues of many candidates from Jammu region to Kashmir.
Scores of candidates, pursuing different degrees in outside state colleges had opted for exam centres in Jammu region, however, "SSB has changed the exam centres to Kashmir region, subjecting us to great trouble," they said.
"I am pursuing my degree in Delhi and had opted for the exam centre in Jammu region, but I was shocked to see my centre in Kashmir after I downloaded my acknowledgement card from the SSB website," said Khurshid Ahmad, adding that he has to travel to Kashmir to appear in SSB exams and accused SSB of unnecessarily causing inconveniences to the candidates.
Chairperson SSB, Dev Lata said the decision for allotment of exam centres was taken keeping convenience of the candidates in consideration.
"But we are ready to address all the grievances of the aspirants. They should get in touch with the Controller SSB to get their issues resolved," Lata said.
About the change of exam centres from one region to another, Lata said, "The Controller is the final authority to deal with the issue of allotment of centres."
