Militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen on Thursday claimed the responsibility of Bijbehara attack that left two cops, including a DSP, critically injured.

Operational spokesperson of Hizb ul Mujahideen, Burhan-u-Din told Srinagar-based news agency CNS that the attack on police party was carried out by its special squad who successfully managed to escape from the scene after the assault. 

"We warn all those policemen who aid and assist Indian Forces against militants to suppress the legitimate freedom movement in Kashmir to mend their ways, otherwise they will face such attacks in future," the spokesperson warned.

He claimed that Hizb Operational Field Commander has directed all the outfit militants to intensify attacks on Indian security establishments.

The attack was carried out on a police party in Goriwan area of Bijbehara town in South Kashmir's Anantnag town earlier today.
