Activists of "Difai Kangan Forum ", a local social organization, here today assembled at Public Park and held silent protest march from the park to SDM office, seeking redressal to the grievances faced by the people.

The protesters were demanding fencing around Public Park, better drainage system, uninterrupted electricity supply from local power house, strong embankment of Nallah Sindh, curb on rising dog menace in the town, supply of clean drinking water and cancellation of National Food Security Act.

"We will fight tooth and nail against anti-people NFSA and will come on roads if our local issues were not solved within a month," Abdul Rashid Ahangar, chairman DKF told Greater Kashmir.

Later, they presented a memorandum regarding their grievances to SDM Kangan, G A Mir who assured them that he will take up the issues with higher authorities so that they are resolved at an earliest.
