Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded stern action against MLA Langate, Sheikh Rashid, who allegedly threatened a BJP worker at Pulwama earlier this week.
In a statement, BJP spokesman Khalid Jehangir said, "Rashid has developed a habit to poke his nose in all the matters. He, by threatening the BJP activist, has crossed all the limits. Law should take its own course so that he mends his ways."
Jehangir said, "None of the BJP workers can tolerate anyone insulting their Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The party activist protesting against the MLA's act to defame BJP leadership was his democratic right, but Engineer Rashid threatened to hand him over to Laskhkar-e-Toiba for raising his voice. MLAs threat cannot be taken lightly."
The BJP spokesman said that Police have already registered FIR against the MLA. "We hope law would take its own course," he added.
