Tehreek-e-Mazahamat chairman Bilal Ahmad Sidiqui Sunday extended support to the shutdown call on 26th January given by Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani.

"New Delhi is responsible for oppression against people of the region. Thousands have been killed since 1947 and many have been subjected to custodial killings and enforced disappearances," a TeM spokesman in a statement today quoted Sidiqui as having said.

"Despite being signatory to the promises with the people of Jammu and Kashmir for honouring their political aspirations, India has failed to honour them," Sidiqui said.
