The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has notified the annual fee structure of government-run schools in Kashmir for the academic year 2016.

The fee structure has been recommended by a six-member team constituted by DSEK after reviewing the previous annual fee structure for students studying in government schools.

The committee members including Deputy Director Planning (DSEK), Joint Director (SE), Chief Education Officer (CEO) Baramulla and Kulgam, Deputy CEO Anantnag and OSD (IMW) have recommended the revision of the previous fee structure applicable in the government with some minimal changes for the academic session 2016.

Following the recommendation and report submitted by the committee, DSEK has fixed a revised fee structure for the government schools from 1st standard to class 12.

The fee charged from the students has been divided in 15 different categories that include School Improvement Fund (SIF), Red Cross Fund (RCF), Mutual Benefit Fund (MBF), Games fund, Admission fee, Printing Fund, Science Fund, Computer Fund, Social Activity Fund (SAF), Sweeping charges, Magazine fund, Library department fund, forms and prospectus, electricity, telephone and news fund.

The annual fee for class 1st to class 5 has been fixed as Rs 100 per academic session while as Rs 200 has been fixed for class 6 to 8th and Rs 450 for class 9th and 10th.

The annual fee for class 11 and 12 has been fixed as Rs 750.

The primary class students will have to pay Rs 5 each for RCF, admission and printing fund and Rs 10 each against MBF, electricity and activity fund for one academic year. Rs 20 will be charged for sweeping fund from class 1 to 5.

"The students will have to pay this amount at the time of their admission in their respective government schools," said Joint Director (SE), Mehboob Iqbal.

Moreover, the students from class 6 to 10 will be charged Rs 50 as SIF, Rs 10 each for RCF, GF, Admission fee, Science fund, SAF, telephone/ electricity and news fund. "This is included in the total fee which amounts to Rs 200 per academic session," official in DSEK said.

Moreover the middle standard students will be charged an amount of Rs 15 as printing fund while as Rs 20 each for computer fund and sweeping charges.

The SIF for class 9 and 10 is Rs 70 while as Rs 20 each will be charged as MBF, printing fund, telephone charges, news fund and Rs 50 will be charged as Computer fund, magazine fund and Library department fund.

Also, Rs 10 each will be charged for RCF and forms and prospectus while as Rs 15 will be charged as admission fee. "Rs 35 will be charged for games fund and Rs 30 each for Science Fund and sweeping charges," reads the DSEK circular issued here on Tuesday.

For higher secondary classes in government schools the annual fee has been fixed as Rs 750 which includes Rs 100 each as SIM, computer and magazine fund.

Rs 70 will be charged for library department fund and 60 for games fund. "Rs 50 each will be charged for Printing, Science and Social Activity fund while as Rs 30 each will be charged as sweeping charges, forms and prospectus, electricity and news fund," reads the DSEK circular, adding that Rs 20 will be will be charged as MBF and admission fee besides an amount of Rs 10 as RCF.
