In a breather for JKCET and AIEEE aspiring students in Jammu and Kashmir, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has decided to conduct its graduation entrance test on May 8 this year.

JK Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE) in its notification has fixed tentative dates to conduct JK Common Entrance Test (CET) from May 21-22 this year.

The last date for submission of online application for AMU graduation entrance is February 15.

In a statement issued here, Patron of Jammu and Kashmir Aligarh Association (JKAA), Dr. Manzoor Ahmad, said the dates were fixed as per the convenience of the students as most of the students from state were unable to appear in AMU graduation entrance test from the last two years due to clash of examination dates.

"JKAA raised this issue with AMU administration after BOPEE notified May 14 and 15, 2016, as tentative dates for common entrance test. It was ensured that there is no clash of examination date in 2016," reads the statement.

The JKAA Patron has appealed to all the aspirants to mention Distant State (DS) Category in their application forms which will make them eligible for nomination under DS category in various professional and non-professional courses.

Meanwhile Chairman BOPEE, Ghulam Hassan Tantray, said the dates for holding CET this year were fixed keeping in view the past experiences. "This year there is no chance of clash between the two exams," he said.
