Girl students among eight injured in accident on Srinagar-Jammu highway

At least eight passengers, most of them girl students, were injured on Sunday after an Innova car in which they were travelling met with an accident and rolled down 100-feet down the road into a nullah on Srinagar-Jammu highway.

At least eight passengers, most of them girl students, were injured on Sunday after an Innova car in which they were travelling met with an accident and rolled down 100-feet down the road into a nullah on Srinagar-Jammu highway.

An official said that the Innova car suffered a head-on collision with a Jammu-bound Tavera near Sherbibi, following which it rolled down into Bishlari Nallah.

Eight persons, including the driver of the Innova car, were injured in the accident.

They have been shifted to Banihal hospital where their condition was reported to be out of danger.

The injured were identified as:

Anees Ahmad, son of Mohd Sadeeq Khan R/O Bemina Srinagar, aged 20.

Nazira Bashir D/O Ab Khaliq R/O Sopore, aged 19 

Nuzhat Ara D/O Azad Mohd R/O Sopore, aged 21.

Junaid Ahmed S/O Mohd Maqbool R/O Chadoora, aged 19 

Javid Ahmed S/O Sarfraz Ahmed R/O Sopore, aged 23. 

Bilal Rafiq S/O Rafiq Ahmed R/O Budgam, aged 22 

Kashish D/o Nazir Ahmed R/O Batmaloo, aged 19.
