Three people were injured on Sunday in an explosion at the site of Thursday's gunbattle in Hajin area of Bandipora district.
Locals and eye witnesses said that some explosive device blasted near the encounter site as the locals were clearing the debris of the house that was razed to ground by forces on Thursday during the encounter with militants.
The injured have been identified as JCB driver Tanveer Ahmed, a resident of Tergam Sonawari, and Adil and Omar Ayub Parrey – both residents of Hajin.
They were shifted to CHC Hajin for treatment.
SSP Bandipora Sahbir Choudhary said that some left-out ammunition might have exploed after coming under tyres of the JCB used for clearing the debris, causing "minor injurues to three people."
"Our bomb disposal squad was also on the job from last two days to sanitize the area in order to avoid any untoward incident," he said.
However, locals detested the police claim.
"The police did not remove the debris of the house. Local residents were voluntarily clearing the debris of the house when the blast happened.
