"Today Indian ex-ministers and parliamentarians are raising questions about the trial of Afzal Guru and are saying that his case was not correctly decided. But when Kashmiris and some others whose conscience is alive raise same questions they are being slapped sedition charges and put behind bars. A vicious media trail is also launched against them. Ban on freedom of expression and thoughts can only be termed as the worst kind of dictatorship and Indian rulers are practising it under the garb of democracy," Yasin Malik, in a statement today, said.
He reiterated his call for shutdown on February 27 (Saturday) against the arrests and appealed people to observe complete shutdown and express solidarity with SAR Geelani and others.
Meanwhile, Yasin Malik has condoled the demise of Abdul Rashid Alkindi of Pogal, Banihal who lost his life in an accident on February 25.
