The Jammu and Kashmir Anganwari Workers and Helpers Union (AWHU) has urged authorities to redress the grievances of its member employees without any further delay. A delegation of the Union led by its chairperson Tasleema Subhan told Greater Kashmir that their long pending demands including gratuity, formulation of pension scheme, enhanced remuneration, payment of minimum wages and withdrawal of attempts to privatize ICDS have not been realized so far.

"We also demanded regularization of our services as Class III and Class IV employees with immediate increase in our honorarium to Rs 5000 and Rs 4000 per month respectively," they said. They appealed Governor NN Vohra to personally intervene in the matter and get their long pending demands met without any further delay.
