Hizbul Mujahideen on Tuesday clarified that youths arrested by government forces in south Kashmir recently had no links with the militant outfit.

In a statement issued to KNS, spokesman of Hizbul Mujahideen, Saleem Hashmi said that the youths who were arrested by the forces including Zakir Ahmad Bhat, Sajad Ahmad Malla, Zubair Ahmad Malla, Bilal Ahmad Parra, Zahoor Ahmad Bhat, Farooq Ahmad Thokar, Aashiq Ahmad Bhat, Altaf Ahmad Bhat and Mudassir Ahmad Bhat, had no links with Hizbul Mujahideen.

"By arresting these youths, the Modi-led government is revealing its plans. Such suppression of youth will not weaken the ongoing freedom struggle," said Hashmi.

He appealed the International community and human rights bodies to take note of these arrests and play their role in their release. (KNS)
