Jama’at seeks release of Pulwama driver

Jama'at-i-Islami Jammu and Kashmir has demanded release of a driver from Pulwama, saying he is innocent but 'framed under false charges.'

"The police have detained Sajad Ahmad Lone son of Muhammad Ramzan of Lelhar Kakapora in Pulwama district under the draconian law of Public Safety Act on some baseless charges. The detainee is a driver from a poor family and has been lodged in a jail in Kathua district. His parents and five young sisters are not in a position to go to this far off place to meet him. The local people deny all the allegations leveled against Sajad," Jama'at spokesperson, Advocate Zahid Ali said  in a statement and demanded his lodgment in any jail in Srinagar till his release to enable his infirm parents to meet him.
