At least seven protesters were injured in clashes with government forces in Khudwani area of south Kashmir's Kulgam district on Monday.
One of the protesters was hit by pellets while the rest suffered injuries due to teargas shells.
All the injured are being treated at Sub-District hospital Qaimoh, said a health official.
Earlier, youths angered due to killing of a Hizb militant Danish Sheikh in a gunbattle with forces last night, attacked paramilitary CRPF men stationed inside SKUAST's Rice Research Institute at Khudwani.
The forces responded by firing pellets and bursting teargas shells.
