Two youths injured after Army vehicle, car suffer collision in Ganderbal

Two youths were injured, one of them critically, after a car suffered a collision with an army vehicle at Wayil in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Saturday.

Two youths were injured, one of them critically, after a car suffered a collision with an army vehicle at Wayil in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district on Saturday.

The injured were identified as Umar Farooq Shah (21), son of Farooq Ahmad Shah and Abid Hussain Rather (22), son of Ghulam Hassan Rather – both residents of Chinar Kangan.

An official said that a Maruti car bearing registration JK01N-74 52 travelling from Ganderbal to Wayil collided with an army vehicle 05D166965-N of 5RR coming from opposite direction near Wayil market, resulting in injuries to two people.

The injured were rushed to SKIMS where the condition of Umar Farooq is stated to be critical.

An official at Ganderbal police station told Greater Kashmir that they have registered a case under FIR No. 682016 under Sections 279,337 in this connection and have taken up the investigation.
