Kupwara district magistrate to seek removal of army bunker within a month

The District magistrate Kupwara will write to army authorities for removal of army bunker (post) situated at the main chowk in Handwara within a period of one month.

This was agreed upon after the district administration held a meeting with the civil society Kupwara, read an order issued today. 

According to the order, the matter of ex-gratia for the next of kin from all concerned authorities as per rules in favour of all deceased persons will also be taken up by the district magistrate. 

"A lenient view will be taken in general FIR as nobody has been nominated in general FIR," read the order. 

A magisterial enquiry by the district magistrate into the matter will be completed within stipulated time, read the order, a copy of which lies with Greater Kashmir.

It said that disciplinary action will also be taken against erring police officials under law. 

"One officer namely ASI Mohd Rafiq stands placed under suspension for his alleged negligence of duty," it said.
