A three-member delegation from Central University of Kashmir visited United Kingdom on a study programme sponsored by UK-India Education Research Initiative (UKIERI), Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and University Grants Commission (UGC) from April 24 to May 3, a CUK spokesman said.
He said the delegation comprising Assistant Registrar (Administration) Dr Javed Wani, Coordinator Department of Convergent Journalism (School of Media Studies), Asif Khan and Assistant Professor, Department of Tourism Management, Faizan Ashraf Mir – was selected and nominated by the university and Ministry of Human Resource Development.
Sharing the experience of the visit, Dr Wani said: "It was amazing to see how the universities in England have developed self-sustaining departments where results are given more priority rather than processes."
Khan referred to learning outcome of the programme. "The programme was quite enriching. It was based on personal leadership strengths and skills. It provided an insight for dealing with strategic issues in the institutions. We also learnt how to build research eco-system, international collaboration, higher education organizational structures and value chain from innovation to commercialization," said Khan.
