The MLA Langate Er Rashid today sustained injuries after police foiled an anti BJP-PDP march in this south Kashmir town on Monday, an AIP spokesman said.
He claimed despite police strict restrictions, hundreds of people assembled at Lal-Chowk Anantnag holding banners and play-cards and started raising slogans against government proposal to construct composite townships, sainik colonies, NEET issue, providing temporary shelters to non-state subjects and industrial policy.
"Police quickly swung into action and used force to disperse protestors led by Er Rashid. In the process four persons including Er Rashid sustained minor injuries. Despite sustaining injuries police didn't shift him to the hospital and arrested him along with dozens of supporters and lodged them in police station Anantnag," he added.
