The daily-rated workers of Tourism Department have presented a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Anantnag (Islamabad) about their issues including regularization and release of pending salaries which are withheld since last two years.
"We have been engaged in the tourism department before 1994, however, our regularization is yet to be considered. Even our salaries have not been released for the past two years which has forced us to hit the streets again," said Mir Sarwar Hussain, President, Tourism Department Daily-wagers Union.
"We are facing extremely difficult situation. Our genuine concerns have been overlooked by the successive regimes from time to time. We hope that the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti will seriously look into our demands and impress upon the authorities to consider our regularization on priority," he added.
