Various separatist leaders and organizations have paid tributes to two militants, Manzoor Ahmad and Muhammad Ayoub Lone, who were slain in an encounter with the forces at Newa in Pulwama district of south Kashmir today.
Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) chairperson Syeda Aasiya Andrabi termed the police claim that two militants were killed in a gunfight at Newa as a 'blatant lie'.
"In fact they had been in police custody from past few days and an encounter was staged to justify their killing," Asiya Andrabi in a statement today said, adding that "There were serious injury marks on Manzoor's body and these injuries aren't fresh. We pay rich tributes to these martyrs and are proud of what they are doing for the whole Kashmiri nation."
Jammu Kashmir National Front (NF) spokesman in a statement today said, "the pro-freedom gunmen are sacrificing their lives to liberate us and their sacrifices can never be forgotten and their mission will be taken to its logical end at all costs."
The Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has also paid tributes to the slain militants and expressed solidarity with their families.
JKLF (R) chairman Farooq Ahmad Dar alias Bita Karate extended his sympathy and condolences to bereaved families.
Tehreek-e-Muzahamat (TeM) chairman Bilal Sidiqui, in a statement today, said, "The martyrs' sacrifices won't go waste."
Muslim League Jammu Kashmir spokesman Rafiq Ganai, in a statement prayed for the slain militants and expressed solidarity with their families.
