Two persons were injured after paramilitary CRPF men fired pellets in Aripanthan village of central Kashmir's Budgam district on Sunday.
Reports and witnesses said that two persons were hit by pellets when the CRPF men fired at a group of people buying sugar at a local ration depot.
The injured, identified as Arif and Abid, were hit by pellets, locals said, adding they were shifted to PHC Aripanthan and Beerwah for treatment.
"It was unprovoked firing. We were standing outside the ration depot, waiting for our turn when CRPF vehicles passed through the area and fired a volley of pellets," said a witness.
Following the firing, people pelted stones at the CRPF vehicles, said another local.
Aripanthan, which falls in the Beerwah constituency of former Chief Minister and NC Working President Omar Abdullah, was in the news recently after four youths were killed in firing by government forces on August 16.
A CRPF spokesman has denied that they fired pellets in the village.
