Thousands of people, including women, on Thursday marched towards the home of Mustafa Mir in Dachigam village of north Kashmir's Bandipora district.
Mir died after being hit by a teargas shell during clashes with government forces on Eid festival.
Locals had called for a march to his village today.
People from Nusoo, Ajar, Bunkoot, Kaloosa, Watpora, Nathpora, Plan, Nowpora and other adjoining villages of Bandipora marched towards Mir's village while raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans.
Several religious and Hurriyat leaders addressed the gathering in Dachigam chowk.
