Stating that undeclared emergency has been imposed by the government in Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) president and MLA Khansahib Hakim Mohammad Yasin today said that in democracy everybody has right to put forward his view.
"There is state of emergency in Kashmir. Employees are being harassed and sacked from the services without any formal charges and enquiry. Son is being arrested in place of father and father is being put in jail instead of son. The freedom of press has been curbed," he said in a statement issued to KNS.
Reminding Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti of her promises made with the people during 2014 elections, the PDF chief said, "Where has her party's promise of 'goli se nahi, baat banege boli se' gone? There is a mismatch between the words and deeds of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its leadership."
"The situation is going back towards '90s as there is fear, chaos and confusion everywhere. More than 90 civilians have been killed, thousands others are injured, hundreds blinded while thousands others including students have been jailed. The ailing people including separatist leaders aren't being provided the proper medi-care facilities in jails," he rued.
