Ganderbal: Students sit on floor to write exams

The students appearing for class 10th and 12th examination being held by Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) are forced to write their examination sitting on the floor amid prevailing chill.

The students appearing for class 10th and 12th examination being held by Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) are forced to write their examination sitting on the floor amid prevailing chill.

The students at several examination centres here in central Kashmir complained the examination centers don't have adequate rooms and also lack enough tables and chairs to accommodate them during the examinations.

The students said non-availability of proper heating and lighting system in the exam halls have added to their woes. "Despite the government claims of providing better infrastructure in educational institutions we are being forced to write our examinations on floor with not even a hint of furniture around" students outside an examination centre told Greater Kashmir.

The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Tariq Hussain Ganie assured that he would look into the matter and would pass on directions to the concerned officials for immediate redressal of the complaints being lodged by the students.

The Chief Education Officer Soni Sanam said "Issues have been sorted out and all the centers are done with all the heating and seating arrangements," he claimed.
