Scores of workers of National Conference (NC), led by Salman Sagar, held a protest rally on Tuesday in Sumbal area of north Kashmir's Bandipora district against the state government for issuing 'domicile certificates' to West Pakistan refugees.
The protestors carried placards and chanted slogans against the state government and held a sit-in outside SDM office Sumbal.
"No domicile certificates", "Save the integrity of J&K", read some of the placards carried by the protestors.
"By issuing domicile certificates to WPR's PDP-BJP coalition is trying to erode article 370 and change the demography of the state. We won't allow it at any cost. We would oppose it even if we have to lay down our lives for it," said Sagar.
He said that they would hold protest rallies in every district of the state until the state government revokes the order of issuing certificates to WPR's.
The protestors claimed that the state government was not being run by PDP-BJP but by the RSS from Nagpur.
