A delegation of Hurriyat Conference (G) leaders today visited Solina here and met Tariq Ahmad Dar who was recently set free from long incarceration from Tihar Jail, New Delhi.
The delegation comprised of Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Bilal Sidiqi, Salim Zargar, Muhammad Yousuf Mir and Gulzar Ahmad Gulzar.
"Tariq Ahmed Dar, who worked with a private company, was recently sentenced to jail for the period already undergone since his arrest on November 10, 2005," the Hurriyat spokesman, in a statement today, said.
He said, "The Hurriyat leaders expressed satisfaction over the release of Tariq Ahmad Dar, and hailed his and his family's patience which they exhibited in the past twelve years. They expressed serious concern over the deteriorating condition of the Kashmiri prisoners in different jails in Jammu Kashmir and India. These prisoners of conscience are facing callous approach of jail authorities because they belong to the disputed territory and a particular religious community."
