Hurriyat Conference (G) senior leaders  Ghulam Nabi Sumji, G A Gulzar, Firdous Ahmad Shah and Muhammad Shafi Lone of Muslim Conference, in a joint statement condemned the attitude of  New Delhi towards the prisoners of Jammu and Kashmir languishing in different jails and termed it "as the worst type of human rights violation."

In a statement, they said "even the example of British rulers of India who being tyrant still provided all possible facilities to the ailing relatives of incarcerated Indian leaders belonging to the Freedom Movement of India." 

They expressed profound grief on the sad demise of the mother of Muhammad Rafiq Ganaie, General Secretary of Muslim League.
