The family of a 24-year-old Srinagar girl suffering from a chronic liver disease has called for help to raise funds for her treatment.

24-year-old Rumi Ji – a resident of Surtaing Rainawari – is suffering from chronic liver disease and doctors have advised her to undergo a liver transplant.

"Rumi was suffering from liver disease since she was 12, but after a treatment of over 12 years, the doctors have said that her condition has deteriorated and she needs a liver transplant," said Irfan Ahmad, the youngest of her four siblings.

The family has appealed the general public to help the family for the treatment, which costs nearly Rs 20 lakh.

Ahmad, who works as a labourer, said they are unable to raise the funds for her treatment.

"My father is not working for past twenty-five after he returned home after leaving his job in a pharmaceutical company in Ghaziabad. He is suffering from asthma. My elder brother is a carpenter," he said.

He said anybody wishing to help them could contact on these phone numbers: 9797771306, 9419317082
