The Hurriyat Conference (G) on Monday slammed the state government for deploying BSF personnel outside the residence of its chairman Syed Ali Geelani, at Hyderpora here.
"Today, a contingent of forces cordoned off the residence of Geelani and BSF personnel were deployed outside it," a spokesman of Hurriyat (G) said in a statement.
He said Geelani is under continued house arrest since 2010.
"In addition to J&K police, CRPF was deployed outside Geelani's residence. Today however they were replaced by the BSF," the spokesman said, adding: "The government has turned Geelani's residence into a garrison. There is strict vigil and nobody can meet Geelani Sahab."
"These cowardly acts won't deter or break resolve of Syed Ali Geelani and he will continue with his fight against the tyrant rulers and forced control of Kashmir," the spokesman said.
