Director General of Police (DGP) S P Vaid on Tuesday said that a decision on restoring the Internet in Kashmir would be taken after a security review meeting later in the evening.
Vaid told Greater Kashmir that a security review meeting is being held today evening. "I will take feedback from police officials in the evening and a decision (on restoring the Internet) would be taken accordingly," he said.
Mobile Internet and broadband services were suspended across Kashmir on the midnight of April 8, on the eve of by-polls to Srinagar parliamentary seat.
Meanwhile, the Anantnag by-poll, scheduled on April 12, was postponed until May 25, in a late night decision by the Election Commission of India following the killing of eight civilians in firing by government forces in Budgam and Ganderbal districts.
