Militant outfit Hizbul Mujhahideen on Monday paid rich tributes to eight civilians who were killed in forces firing on polling day in Central Kashmir on Sunday.

Salim Hashmi, Hizb Spokesperson told news agency CNS over phone that during a high level meeting of Hizb Command Council, the outfit chief Syed Salahuddin said that "pro-India politicians should not become a party to massacres done by India in Kashmir. History will never forgive these politicians," Salahuddin said.  "Kashmiris who boycotted the election drama of India exposed its real face," he said.

Salahuddin appealed to people of south Kashmir to take a cue from the people of Central Kashmir and "stay away from the poll process. "People like Burhan Wani and others have sacrificed their lives for this sacred cause. They all live in the hearts and minds of Kashmiri people. There will be no compromise on their sacred blood and the struggle will continue till it is taken to its logical conclusion," he said. (CNS)
