National Conference Monday expressed dismay over the continuous and "unrelenting cycle" of death in Kashmir and blamed the ruling coalition of PDP BJP for "failing to safeguard the lives of innocent civilians."
In a statement National Conference General Secretary, Ali Muhammad Sagar condemned the killing of 65 year old civilian Ghulam Muhammad Khan of Illahibagh Srinagar in a grenade attack near Khanyar police station yesterday.
"It's highly regretful that a civilian died in a grenade attack. We express our condolences with the bereaved family and pray for speedy recovery of the injured."
"As incharge of the Home department, it's CM Mehbooba Mufti who is supposed to maintain peace in the state but so far she has failed miserably in doing so. The unabated killing of civilians going on in the state is reminiscent of the dark phase Kashmir witnessed in 90s," he said.
