The government Thursday reissued an order banning private tuitions by college teachers during and after official hours.
The order, issued by under secretary higher education department, said private tuition by assistant and associate professors of various government degree colleges in the state was a serious violation of Civil Services Conduct Rules.
"It also has an adverse effect on the dissemination of quality education in colleges," the order said.
The ban had been imposed in February 2011. In the latest order, principals of the colleges have been asked to ensure the ban is carried is out fully.
The order said violators will be dealt with under appropriate service rules.
In October last year, Kashmir directorate of school education also had prohibited private tuitions by school principals, headmasters, lecturers, masters and teachers, including ReTs.
