Army on Thursday resorted to aerial firing in Khrew area of Pulwama district in south Kashmir to disperse protesters following an accident involving one of their vehicles.
Reports said that an elderly man was injured after being hit by an army vehicle belonging to 50 RR in Sharshaki Khrew on Thursday evening.
They said people took to streets and staged protests against the incident.
"Army resorted to aerial firing to disperse the protesters," said a witness.
An official said that the man, whose identity wasn't immediately known, suffered minor injuries in the accident.
