The students of AMT School Bandipora located in Nusoo village of Bandipora district are on strike to protest recall of teaching staff. The students also registered protest against withholding the salary of the teachers by the Block Medical Officer Bandipora, overruling director's order.
Despite passing of ten days the concerned authorities have not taken any concrete step to redress the grievances of the students, thereby putting their academics at stake.
The class work in the AMT School Bandipora has remained suspended and students are on protest as the BMO called back the nominated staff which was deployed from the sub-district hospital for starting Paramedic courses in the school as per the internal adjustment by the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir.
"Three tutors,(BSC Nursing/Diploma in Nursing), one senior/junior assistant, one nursing orderly and two sweepers be nominated and deployed for making the school functional by way of internal adjustment for the current financial year," reads the order vide No DHSK/Plg/ANM/GNM/976.79 by Directorate of Health Services Kashmir, copy of which lies with Greater Kashmir.
However, the concerned BMO called back the nominated staff and withheld their salaries when principal AMT School Bandipora submitted the attendance of these employees for the month of July for the release of salary. The principal AMT School, Dr Syed Rehman said that the BMO has withheld salary of the nominated staff and have called them back and there is no other staff in the school to continue the class work. "The class work of the students has suffered and they are on protest as there is nobody to teach them," he said.
