Separatists hail AI report on use of pellet guns in Kashmir

Various separatist leaders and organizations have hailed the Amnesty International (AI) report on the use of pellet guns in Kashmir by the government forces against Kashmiri protesters, asking the government of India to stop immediately the use of such weapons while dealing with protesters.

Various separatist leaders and organizations have hailed the Amnesty International (AI) report on the use of pellet guns in Kashmir by the government forces against Kashmiri protesters, asking the government of India to stop immediately the use of such weapons while dealing with protesters.  

Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani today, while hailing the report, termed "it eye opener for India which claims to be the largest democracy of the globe."   

Hurriyat Conference (M), at a meeting of its executive council held here today with its chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in chair, while hailing the report  said, "The strong censuring of the government by the Amnesty International with regard to the indiscriminate and inhuman use of pellet guns against the people of Kashmir is based on facts and figures and  should serve as an eye opener to all champions of human rights in India and world over and should also shake the conscience of nations across the globe."  

Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) chairman Zaffar Akbar Bhat and Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (H) chairman Javed Mir also hailed the report.
