Private Schools Association of Kashmir (PSAK) today decried the frequent braid chopping incidents in Kashmir, saying it has created fear-psychosis among the students.
The association in a statement said the incidents happening across Kashmir have affected the students "both physically and mentally."
"The girl students fear to come to schools. The academics as well as the extra-curricular activities have badly been affected," said G N Var president PSAK.
The association said the "failure" of government to nab the culprits has made the situation even worse. "The biggest victims have been the students at the coaching centres. These students would come to tuition centres early morning, but now they fear to attend classes," said Var.
The association urged the government to provide foolproof security to all educational institutions particularly those reserved for girls.
