Clashes erupted in Tral area of Pulwama district in south Kashmir on Thursday against the alleged ransacking of a militant's home by government forces.

Reports said that youth took to streets and clashes with the forces in Main Town area of Tral.

Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is being observed to protest against the ransacking.

The mother of militant Hamad Khan told Greater Kashmir that the government forces ransacked their house last night.

The incident comes a day after houses of three militants were ransacked allegedly by government forces in Shopian district.

A senior police official denied the involvement of police in the ransacking of militant's house.

"I cannot say about army's presence, better to ask them but no police personnel were involved in the incident," he said.

Despite repeated attempts SP Awantipora, DIG south Kashmir and commandant 42 RR could not be contacted.
