The director school education Kashmir GN Itoo on Wednesday issued promotion and placement orders in favour of 117 headmasters.
As per the official handout issued here, the promoted headmasters will be adjusted in different high schools across Kashmir.
The handout reads that promotion and placement of headmasters is part of the continuous process of filling up of vacant posts of headmasters of high schools and providing adequate teaching staff in schools "so that the students do not face any difficulty during the upcoming academic session."
Pertinently, education minister had recently stated that department will provide sufficient teaching staff in the schools and the vacant posts of heads of institutions will also be filled up in a time bound manner.
Also, the DSEK has also released the list of orphan and BPL students who will be given free coaching and study material in registered private coaching centres of Kashmir.
"The decision regarding this was taken in a meeting with owners of these coaching centres recently. The owners of private tuition centres were asked to reserve 10% quota for orphans and students belonging to BPL category for which the Directorate will be providing the list," the handout reads.
The handout reads that the directorate had received more than 800 applications from poor and BPL category students out of which 605 students have been recommended for coaching in the first phase after verification of their credentials.
Earlier, DSEK has also issued orders of registration in favour of 28 private coaching centres that were found genuine and followed all the requisite norms laid down by the competent authority.
